About the college
college The Law College in Nalut has deep roots that stretch back in time, as its establishment dates to the late last century. It was founded during a period when the Libyan state faced a shortage of specialized colleges, coinciding with a population increase and a rise in the outputs of intermediate education institutions, leading to a higher demand for university institutions. Therefore, this college was established by a decision from the Secretary of the People's Committee for Education and Scientific Research "formerly" No. "745" of the year 1991 under the name of the College of Law. It was inaugurated on April 15, 1992, as one of the colleges affiliated with the University of the Western Mountain, which sits on the slopes of this mountain that has roots deep in history, with its pure, refreshing air creating a conducive environment for its students to draw from its well of knowledge. Its authenticity has not prevented it from keeping pace with the new millennium and its developments, as it has witnessed various advancements. فBy the year 2000, Nalut Law School joined the University of Sections and established a Sharia Department due to the close connection between the sciences of Sharia and law, as they are two sides of the same coin. Then, the Law Department in Al-Ruhaybat was inaugurated, and it was named "College of Law and Sharia." After that, it joined Al-Fateh University (formerly) as a university representing the face of the Libyan state globally at that time, and then returned to its parent, the University of the Western Mountain. وIt remained in this state until 2011, when it witnessed the adoption of a diversity policy in the knowledge market and the introduction of new scientific horizons. Two new departments were established: the first was the Department of Islamic Economics, which was created in 2013, and the second was the Department of Political Science, which was established in 2011. This led to the formation of a college that includes four scientific departments with diverse specializations: the Department of Sharia, the Department of Law, the Department of Islamic Economics, and the Department of Political Science. In the context of the horizontal expansion plan adopted by the Libyan state, the Nalut Law College became one of the colleges affiliated with Nalut University, which was established by the decision of the Presidential Council of the Government of National Accord No. (606) for the year 2017. In this context, the college adopted a policy to revise its strategic plan for distributing scientific departments by dissolving the Department of Political Economy, which became a branch under the Department of Sharia, and establishing a branch of Sharia and Law under the same department. Therefore, the college now consists of three main departments: “the Department of Law, the Department of Political Science, and the Department of Sharia, which includes the Sharia branch, the Sharia and Law branch, and the Islamic Economics branch.” And this college continues to strive for the best and the highest in what it adopts as a vision, carries as a message, and aspires to achieve in its goals, asking God, the Almighty.Wishing success and prosperity for everyone.
